The Spirit Of Sisterhood –  emerged from a dream of Betty Stallings-Murray in 1991.  They are a bonded group of women and men from all levels of economic, educational, social and racial existence. Their mission is to promote educate and distribute the spirit of unity, contribution of history to the world and the global existence of women. To establish and illustrate the importance of its mission the concept of “Come To The Table” is presented. This is a live, visual, audio, and artistic display illuminating the purpose and existence of women. “Come To The Table” allows the audience to connect to who we are. Through the Spirit Of Sisterhood we devise ways to preserve the connection to our pass, keeping a productive presence in the community, and the young people connected to their culture.      Founded in 1991 by Betty Stallings-Murray

Ladies Of The Silver Tea – It is an illusion of many people of color and various ethnic backgrounds to believe that they have been fully integrated into “American” society. It is important for us to maintain those traditions and behaviors that make us unique and mentally/emotionally healthy as a group. Institutionalized racism and discrimination are alive and well and will remain for generations to come. We must do everything within our abilities to prepare the generations to come for success.

My goal is to encourage Black women to form small groups to work in the tradition of “The Silver Tea”. These groups would establish systems of communications with each other to work together for our youth and strengthening our communities.  The teas presented are always “A Tea With A Purpose”. The events can occur in churches, community centers, schools, homes/apartments, etc. In the Spirit of Sisterhood — Welcome To The Silver Tea!   Resurrected in 2004 by Cynthia Richardson
