Betty J Murray (Betty J Of N.Y.) has created Unique, Artistic and Unforgettable Pieces, In Helping the Planet. Always Something Unimaginable. A Place To Share Beautiful Art or A Fantasy Gift.
Created By Hand. Betty transforms empty glass bottles into beautiful pieces of art. She merges her vivid paintings with her bottles, creating a new contemporary decorative art form of jeweled, ornamental paintings, with matching, painted, glass vessels. Two of her glass art pieces were chosen to exhibit in New York “Whimisical Winter Wonder 2017”. In fall of 2019 she displayed a 8pc table setting artistically decorated and displayed, a grieving mother over the lost of her son “A Weeping Woman Table Setting” for their October 2019 Disability Exhibition. Her submission for the upcoming 2019 “Winter Whimisical Wonder” exhibit, Betty Murray presented a 3pc. Fantasy of “Prince Purple Winter Fantasy” a display of decorated jeweled painting with matching ornamental glass vessels. In the summer of 2019 her works traveled to Charlotte North, then onto a private show in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Her art raises funds and brings awareness to 1D in honor of her 11year old granddaughter Janelle, and Lupus in honor of her daughter E’lyse, and late son Eric. With her crafts she raises funds at the annual Allerton Centerlight holiday craft show. She has also created an artists discussion, presentation of paintings, handcrafts, historical art, from women of the Caribbean, and African American Cultures. As a senior she is now part of the Allerton Artist group, her paintings can be seen at the Centerlight Allerton Gallery, and has hung in the offices of the main building at Waters Place. Before her love for painting she authored and illustrated two children’s picture books “Grandma Buddy’s House and Ten Is For Tendai”, and owner/artist of “Paper Memories and the Gula Collection” beautiful handcrafted gift cards and other collectable paper memorabilia.
